[U.S MUSIC] Juicy J ft. Travis Scott – Neighbor

The last time we heard Juicy J was back in the summer when he guested on a posse remix to “Welcome to the Party.” He and Travis Scott have collaborated a few times in the past and they always tend to create some memorable tracks. From “Wasted” on Rodeo to the “No English” single they did last year, Juicy and Travis have a respectable working relationship.

This particular song was made while Cactus Jack was working on Astroworld. Juicy realized that he needed to get Travis on his own album, he revealed to interviewer Zane Lowe, creating this song in the weeks after. The prolific Memphis rapper is back again, premiering his latest single on Beats 1 radio as the “World Record” of the day.

Every day, Zane Lowe likes to introduce some of the hottest new tracks to us by way of his “World Record” premieres. Setting fire to the world, the legendary Juicy J goes in over a Buddah Bless beat for his new track “Neighbor.” La Flame starts things out with his catchy hook and a verse of his own. Of course, we get an abundance of Juicy ad-libs throughout the entire affair, which may throw some people off. If you’re not used to the Memphis artist yelling “Shut the fuck up!” or “M-m-mafia,” you surely will get accustomed here.

Plenty of pop culture references exist here as Cardi B, Offset, Cassie and others are all included in Juicy’s verse. How are you feeling this new track compared to their previous collaborations?

[U.S MUSIC] Young Thug ft. Jaden Smith – Sin

Jaden Smith recently spoke of Young Thug as the matchstick to the upcoming phase of his career. Jaden recently played a prominent role on Thugger’s new EP, an experience he hopes will lead to improvement “of the faculties of the mind.”

Thugger is to him what Tyler, the Creator has come to embody as a fashion mentor. Will’s son believes the influence of stately figures will help him become one himself, which explains why he seems to be in the right place all the time.

On “Sin,” Young Thug incites the youngster to mix and match his unique vocal style and make it something his own, a lifeline he proposes out of goodwill. The result is positive on account of Thugger maintaining his relative pedigree, and a positive step for Jaden, who earns himself valuable tommy points on his ascension to the top of the heap. It must be nice to have friends in high places.

[U.S MUSIC] NBA YoungBoy – No Mentions

NBA Youngboy has been feeding the streets with a ton of new music these past couple weeks, and thankfully he doesn’t look to be slowing down either. After teaming up with Kevin Gates last week for the 4 Respect EP, the Baton Rouge decided to return to the scene this week to not only share a new song called “Can’t Be Saved,” but he also surprised fans yesterday with another 4-song EP called 4 Freedom, his second project in as many weeks. Looking to keep the onslaught going, NBA Youngboy decides to keep his foot on the gas and share ANOTHER record & video today called “No Mentions.”

“I appreciate you guys for being with me on the rise,” he wrote in the song’s description. No word yet if this is yet another taste of a forthcoming EP, or just something he had in the stash, but were always here for some new NBA Youngboy.

Check out the Louie Knows-directed video (below), which features a cameo from Trippie Redd, and let us know what you think. Here’s what Trippie had to say about NBA following its release: “My lil brother just dropped some heat ‘no mentions’ I genuinely think this nigga amazing and everyone else should too he a star and I love him to death Loyalty over royalty ߤްߏ젷it my brudda to the wheels fall off go watch that.”

[U.S MUSIC] Tekashi 6ix9ine ft. Anuel AA – Bebe

Coming off his highest-charting record on the Billboard Hot 100 with the Nicki Minaj-featured song “FEFE,” Tekashi 6ix9ine is looking to go 9 for 9 on Billboard with his new single “BEBE” featuring Latin trap star Anuel AA.

The all-Spanish record finds 6ix9ine jumping on this contagious & upbeat Ronny J produced beat and crooning throughout the track in auto-tune, while Anuel takes care of the chorus and bridge. What they’re saying is a great question as you better know fluent Spanish to comprehend it, but it sounds like Tekashi might have another hit in the Latin-market going off this melodic & tropical vibe. No word yet if this will see life on his upcoming mixtape, which he said is dropping at the end of September, or just something for his hispanic fan, but we’ll take it.

The record coincidentally surfaces while Tekashi is currently in his native land in Mexico, where he was just seen giving away hundred dollar bills to the community & kids yesterday.

[U.S MUSIC] H.E.R. – Let’s Get Away

H.E.R.’s way of giving back to the originators sees her take the obvious route with respect to Aretha Franklin’s recent passing. “Let’s Get Away” is essentially a cover of “Daydreaming” except H.E.R. seems to be more discrete about her supply run. While Aretha may have only been drifting into her own thoughts of life outside the misshapen box, H.E.R. shows a willingness to venture far and away if the weather permits, so long as it’s “just you and me,” she pleads.

With the tradition of open subject life upheld for another century mark, it’s not hard to get lost in the scenario yourself. “Kissing underwater under the islands of Fiji,” it doesn’t sound half bad does it now? H.E.R. is open to the possibility of a remote location, where signal strength is anything but secure.

After hours of badgering my colleagues with slightly obscene language, it’s quite refreshing to be put in a different state of mind. I do hope they forgive me, for I am lost, through no fault of the lovely H.E.R. or Aretha Franklin.

[U.S MUSIC] NBA YoungBoy – We Dem

Sometimes, a young boy must buckle down and rap his ass off like a grown man. Such is the case on “We Dem,” the closing track off his surprise EP 4Freedom. Taking to an intimidating piano banger, Youngboy decides to put down the emotional baggage in favour of truly baring his teeth. It’s a welcome change, though NBA’s more heartfelt, vulnerable cuts tend to prove enjoyable. Still, it’s always nice to hear him going in, and such is indeed the case on “We Dem.” The melodic chops are not entirely brushed off, as Youngboy’s flow tends to retain a singsong quality.

In fact, he seems to channel his rhyming partner Kevin Gates on this one, with an aggressive sense of gravitas driving his voice. In the song’s second verse, he switches up the delivery, coming as close to double time as we’ve heard thus far. If you feel like Youngboy can’t rap at a top tier level, perhaps this one will change your mind. Peep the project in full now.
